The original cast iron calipers were heavy and also painting them yellow was a mistake as the paint would flake off at a moments notice.
They were also very heavy and at the time I saw in a magazine a company called Hi-Spec who made billet alloy calipers. I bought a pair of alloy calipers that were designed to be a straight swap with the Ford Capri calipers.
I also had the rear calipers powder coated gold to match the front ones. The powder coating was very good and a good choice over painting and it also resisted brake fluid too.
I also had an issue with the handbrake where it never really worked properly. I replaced the sharp bend where the cable passed with a sheave from a pulley and whilst improving performance on the handbrake it still, well sucks.
